We believe that active music making has direct impact on the development of a child. Fully engaged in music, children naturally learn - about music, themselves, and their world. Our experiences have shown that this is also true for teens and adults!
Instrument lessons are scheduled on a weekly basis. When the teacher is working with one student at a time, most lessons are most effective in a one-half hour time slot. Younger children may need a more customized approach to account for their focus ability.
Parents are encouraged to attend each lesson and to take notes. Students will receive an assignment to be practiced throughout the week between lessons.
When asked about how many days per week a student should practice her instrument, Dr. Suzuki answered that the student needed to practice only on the days when the student ate!
Students make the most progress when a regularly scheduled time is set aside for daily practice. The amount of time spent in daily practice depends on the age of the student and is best set after discussion with your teacher.
